The Young and Dangerous film series of Hong Kong films about a group of triad members, detailing their adventures and dangers in a Hong Kong triad society. The series is based on a popular comic book series known as "Teddy Boy".
The series contributed a lot to the public image of triads and was condemned by certain quarters as glorifying secret triad societies. However, it was immensely popular in Hong Kong and spun 9 sequels and spin-offs. Its main actors and actresses have also became major stars in their own right.
Andrew Lau served as cinematographer and director for parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 including a prequel with radio personality Manfred Wong writing scripts for the ongoing franchise.

Synopsis
Young and Dangerous follows Chan Ho-Nam and his friends as they become formidable players within the notorious Hung Hing Triad Society. Aided by Uncle B and society dragon head, Mr. Chiang, Chan and his entourage thrive. However, a failed assasination attempt leaves Chan alienated, his friend "Chicken" a fugitive on the run in Taiwan, and a former rival, Ugly Kwan the prime candidate to lead the gang. When Chan and his "wise guys" devise their own plan, however, things get really explosive.

Young and Dangerous 2 (1996)
Synopsis
Chan Ho-Nam is celebrating the grand opening of his nightclub with friends and girlfriend Smartie. Chicken tells Ho-Nam of his time in Taiwan and how he worked for the San Luen triad - which, unlike the Hong Kong triads is infiltrating the political scene. Chicken falls for his boss Lui Kung's mistress but fails to realise her true intentions. Meanwhile in Hong Kong Ho-Nam is challenged by Tai Fei as they are both given the task of competing to run for Bee's old position.

Synopsis

Synopsis

Synopsis

Synopsis
Mr. Chiang steps down and Ho-Nam is promoted to the dragon head of the Hung Hing Triad group. Meanwhile, Chicken is nominated to take over the San Luen Group in Taiwan, but there’s infighting as everyone is after the big chair, except the former leader’s son, who seemingly wants little to do with the whole triad business.
